A two-hour window into the heart of Hayao Miyazaki's creative process, the documentary chronicles the six long years of work that went into making the Japanese animation master's latest film, The Boy and the Heron. A moving and funny documentary. Kaku Arakawa gets to watch Hayao Miyazaki's creative process closely as he makes The Boy and the Heron. He does a great job of mixing scenes from Miyazaki's films with real people involved in the making of the film and people who are/were important to Miyazaki. I saw this film at the Helsinki International Film Festival. Love & Anarchy had some moments that made the audience laugh out loud, and other times, people were swept off their feet. I hope Miyazaki can make more films. I can't recommend this documentary enough to any Ghibli fan.
